Zimivir 500  Tablet is an antiviral agent which is used in the treatment of infections caused by herpes viruses, such as genital herpes, cold sores, herpes zoster (herpes zoster infection), etc. This medicine does not cure herpes; It helps prevent outbreaks of infection and reduces the risk of the virus spreading to others. It can also be used to treat chickenpox (varicella zoster infection).

Herpes zoster infection (shingles)

This drug is used to treat herpes zoster (shingles) infection. The infection is characterized by a painful, blistering, burning rash. It occurs in patients who have had chickenpox in the past. It can also be used to prevent shingles in patients who are susceptible to it, for example, HIV-infected patients who have had close contact with a person who has an active shingles infection.

Chickenpox
