What is Lenalid?

Lenalid 25 mg which contains the active substance lenalidomide is considered an immunomodulatory agent. It affects how the immune system works to help the bone marrow make normal blood cells and kill the abnormal cells in the bone marrow. The capsules can be used alone or in combination with other drugs for the treatment of anemia in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple myeloma.

How is Lenalid used?

Lenalid is generally taken on a 28-day cycle and should be taken once a day unless otherwise directed by a doctor. It can be taken with or without food, but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dose and time frame for treatment, as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the drug. The capsules must always be swallowed whole and must not be chewed, crushed, broken or opened.
