INTRODUCTION :
HCQS 200 MG contains hydroxychloroquine which belongs to a group of medicines called antimalarials. It is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug. (DMARD). Hydroxychloroquine used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by reducing joint inflammation, pain, swelling and stiffness. It also improves the rash in lupus patients. It is used in the treatment and prevention of malaria. Hydroxychloroquine interferes with cell communication in the immune system and is therefore effective in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. For malaria, this medicine works by killing the parasite causing the infection.
Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. The most common side effects of taking this medicine are headache, dizziness, diarrhea, or vision problems. Before taking this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have heart, kidney or liver disease. It is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking. Avoid grapefruit while taking this drug.

HCQS 200MG works by suppressing the excessive activity of the immune system which causes inflammation and pain in the joints. Slows down the progression of the underlying disease.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE :
Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you based on your condition. Swallow the medicine whole with a glass of water.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS :
Nausea:
Try taking this medicine with or immediately after meals and follow with simple meals. Don't eat rich or spicy foods.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.
Dizziness:
Get up and move to feel awake, take short naps to relieve dizziness. Take a break in your eyes to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy meal to boost energy.

Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine as it can cause blurred vision.
ALCOHOL
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine.
KIDNEY
HCQS 200MG should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
HCQS 200MG should be used with caution in patients with hepatic insufficiency or active liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to hydroxychloroquine.
HEART DISEASE
HCQS 200MG should be taken with caution in patients with myocardial infarction or any other heart disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you have,
Low levels of potassium, calcium, or magnesium in the blood or a condition that can affect the levels of those salts in the blood (for example, prolonged eating disorders or vomiting)
Diabetes or symptoms of hypoglycemia
Skin disease called psoriasis.
