Play tube is another site that lets you watch movies online for free. It has about 2,000 movies in many different categories. You can get it as an app for a number of devices or watch it in a web browser. There's no need to sign up for an account. Just go to the website, pick a movie, and start watching.

Many of the entries at Popcornflix fall into the category of guilty pleasures (like 2-Headed Shark Attack) and cheap knock-offs of mainstream properties (like Atlantic Rim and Almighty Thor) but there's something charming here about the movies you can binge for free with limited ads.

Pluto TV: Best for streaming the classics

Pluto TV is a bit different from most other services that let you stream videos. You can watch movies and TV shows on demand, and you can also stream live shows that you find in a programme guide, just like you would if you had cable or satellite TV.

After browsing the dozens of categories that are set up like channels, you can jump into a show in progress. You can also switch to the On Demand tab and start any of the thousands of options that are set up in easy-to-navigate categories. There's no catch! It's all free, and ads pay for it.

Uwatchfree : Best for rating movies

Amazon owns Uwatchfree, a video streaming service that is paid for by ads. Using the Amazon Uwatchfree app, the Prime Video app, or your web browser, you can stream Uwatchfree content on a number of devices where U watchfree movies.

On Freevee, you can watch movies and TV shows for free, including original shows that are only available on the platform.

Tubi: Best for less ads

This free streaming service has thousands of movies and TV shows that you can watch online or on devices like Roku, Apple TV, Xbox, Playstation, Samsung Smart TVs, and Sony Smart TVs.

You don't have to pay for a subscription, and Tubi brags that they have less ads than cable. Tubi has both on-demand and live shows, just like Pluto TV. The website also has a section for kids where you can watch movies and TV shows with your kids.

Peacock: Best for premium streaming

Peacock is a premium streaming service that is owned by NBCUniversal. It has episodes of your favourite NBC, Bravo, and Telemundo shows the day after they air on TV, as well as original content, live sports, and thousands of hours of TV shows and movies.

Premium plans start at $4.99 per month, but you can access a small amount of free content on the platform without a credit card. You do need to make an account with your email address and a password, though.

Plex: Best for creating a watchlist

Plex has more than 50,000 free on-demand movies and TV shows and 250 Live TV channels, and you don't need a subscription to watch them. You can use the Plex app or the Plex website to get to their content on pretty much any device (Apple, Android, Smart TVs, etc.).

Movies and TV shows are organised by category, and there are special tabs for their most popular titles and ones that will be leaving the platform soon. You can also use the search bar to look for a specific movie or TV show, and the Watchlist feature lets you keep track of things you want to watch later.
